L-Phenylalanine (LPA) is found naturally in the breast milk of mammals. This LPA was produced through fermentation, starting from glucose. It is used in the manufacture of food and drink products. General suggested use amount: For Adult, as an amino acid source, add ¼ teaspoon powder (500mg) 1 to 3 times daily to water, or juice, preferably between meals.

LPA is an essential amino acid which can be converted to L-tyrosine through a series of biochemical process which takes place in the liver. By replenishing norepinephrine in the brain, mental energy levels are enhanced and a feeling of contentment often occurs. By contributing to the synthesis of dopamine and norepinephrine, LPA may also help to regulate appetite and body weight by promoting a healthy mood.

KEEP OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN. Contains phenylalanine. Individuals with the rare metabolic disorder Phenylketonuria should not take this amino acid. Not to be used with antidepressant drugs such as MAOI's or SSRI's. Since both norepinephrine and epinephrine can cause smooth muscle (arterial) contraction, care with blood pressure should be taken when supplementing L-phenylalanine. Large amounts of L-Phenylalanine may affect your blood pressure and cause headaches, nausea and heartburn.
